How becoming a breathwork facilitator has enhanced my life
It’s only now, on the eve of graduating as a Breathwork Facilitator with Breathing Space that I'm starting to grasp what this training has done for me personally.
The unexpected places breathwork can take us: a poem
This feels incredibly vulnerable to share this but I think it’s important that I do. One of the most important parts of training to become an apprentice breathwork facilitator is allowing myself to go to my most tender places in my own breathwork journey. This journal entry gives a little glimpse into what this can look like using a personal example.
What can you experience in a Conscious Connected Breathwork session?
Breathing in this way means taking in a lot more air (about 3 times more) than you would with normal breathing and this can cause quite powerful physical, mental, emotional or spiritual sensations or experiences. This can feel quite intense, especially the first time you try it. I’ll go through each of these, including what I personally have experienced in breathwork sessions.
What is breathwork?
Have you been hearing people talking about something called breathwork and wondering what it is? Maybe you've even heard some people calling breathwork the new yoga and you want to know what the fuss is all about. In this journal entry, I'm sharing all the need-to-know basics about breathwork so you can decide if it might be something you want to try!

Check out this blog post for more on how I used it as a 2020 coping mechanism while struggling with the early days of motherhood and all the other 2020 stresses!
Feeling overwhelmed? Try this trick
“I feel overwhelmed.” How many times have you thought or said this in the last week? How about in the last month? I know that overwhelmed is one of my default settings.
A reminder: it's okay to change
When I first started this journal back in 2019, I was focussed on helping people eat more plant-based food. This was what felt aligned to me at the time. But when 2020 well, happened, and the world changed overnight (and I also became a mother at almost exactly the same time), my mission changed
5 reasons why surfing is the best empowerment coach
Nothing has stoked my feminist fire like the experience of being a female surfer. And I’m sure I’m not alone in the things I’ve experienced over the years:

I’ve been the only woman in the sea of 40 + men on many, many occasions.
Want out of your unfulfilling 9-5? Try these 9 hacks
Are you stuck in an unfulfilling 9-5 but you know deep down that you want more out of life? But the thing is...you can’t quit just yet. You’re not alone. I was in that exact situation last year. I get it, it’s not a fun place to be in.
How to cope when exercise is off the cards
For the last decade or so, physical movement has been my feel-good drug of choice. Like for many of us, it helps me sleep well, feel happy, manage stress and just generally feel like myself. Yoga, running, swimming and surfing are the usual suspects, with the odd bit of bouldering and cycling thrown in for good measure.
